The South American Freestyle Football Championships are currently taking place in Medellín, Colombia, and also serve as the qualifying stage for the Pulse World Championships.

The top 4 freestylers from the continent (men and women) will qualify for the world finals. South America is the second continent in terms of number of qualifiers after Europe (5). For comparison, North America and Asia each have 3 qualifiers.

Notable Absentees

Among the notable absentees on the men’s side, there’s Boyka (Colombia, world #5), who was a judge at the last French Championships and has stepped back a bit from competitions recently.

Brazilian Gabby (world #14, Top 8 at Superball 2025) is also skipping these championships.

On the women’s side, world #14 Azumi will not be present, nor will Mexican freestyler Yahaira (world #29).

Our Predictions

Among the freestylers present, the level remains very high. Here are the main favorites on the men’s side, along with the odds we’ve assessed:

Machine

Igna

Nico

Moises

Absent from the last Superball, he is the favorite of the competition. His main goal here is qualification for the Worlds, so he may ease off if he reaches the final.

After finishing 3rd at the last Superball, he is the freestyler who can beat Machine. He’s in top form and full of confidence.

A very strong freestyler, even if just a step below the top two. He finished 2nd in qualifications, right behind Machine. He looks quite in shape.

An experienced international competitor, though seen less recently. A solid freestyler, he rarely achieves spectacular upsets, but often places well without breaking through to the very top.

Other outsiders to watch include: Bolivian Menacho, Colombian Sosa (who already qualified for the Pulse Worlds in a surprise run), Brazilian Diego Emanuel, and Colombian Mompi.

Women

It seems the battle will be between Laura Biondo (Colombia, world #5 and 2nd at the last Superball) and Cata (Chile, world #10).

However, Colombian Mariana (world #36) had one of the best scores in the qualifiers.

Who will come out on top?

We’ll find out this weekend. You can follow the competition live on the WFFA YouTube channel.
